No Matter How Far... by MichaelMayne No Matter How Far... by MichaelMayne
The reason for meeting
And the reason for separating
I hold strongly now within my heart
I believe
I wish
Someday this reaches you in a dream

Part of the ending theme to Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid, "Mouichido kimi ni aitai."
It's the most played song on my computer, tallying in at 365 plays. Phil Collins comes in a safe second and third place away. Yup...

I just really like the song. Actually, Full Metal Panic has really good theme songs in general. They sound nice, and the lyrics are genuinely heartfelt.

I've wanted to do an FMP fanart for about... three years now? Ever since I first saw the show back in freshman year of college. Figures I don't get around to it till now... I'd started on one way back then, but just never finished it; it's in the scraps somewhere...
Honestly though, I'll have to do another FMP fanart where I'll actually put a little more effort in it. This one's pretty sloppy, but it's nice in a somewhat expressionistic kind of way... o__O

(Mecha are a pain to draw. But they get fun after a bit...)

Nice composition! It's a great series and yep yep, the theme songs for all their seasons are super catchy.

I've also wanted to do fanart for this series but it seems like mecha has to figure in somehow. XD

i started reading the manga 3 years ago.
i've been meaning to do some fanart since then.
still haven't done any though.

anyway, awesome pic!
i like the colours cos they're kinda bright and soft at the same time, if that makes any sense at all.
i'm not brave enough to attempt mecha, so major points to you.

Thank ya!

I'd like to give the manga a go at some point. Although, I've taken a few peeks at it before in book stores, and I like the art style in the anime better than in the manga...

i like the style in the manga myself.
so much in fact that i'm trying to emulate the style.
i do prefer the colours in the anime though, like the fact that kaname's eyes arebrown rather than blue.
still, i recomend the manga cos it's a good read and there's always the fun of comparing it to the anime.

Hmm, touching... it's been ages since I watched some FMP! though.

I particularly like the soft, warm lighting you've used on Sousuke's part of the picture.

Thanks!

I thought it would look nice if the two scenes had a different color scheme. So it's not just geographically correct (as in the time difference between Japan and somewhere in the Middle East), but it gives a nice contrast, I think...

very cool sir. And yes mecha are a pain to draw at first, but once you have a feeling going for that mech design its alot more enjoyable.

Danke.
Yeah, I never want to actually start on drawing mecha. But after I get going I don't mind it so much.
